ORLANDO, Fla., April 27, 2012 — Vicky Mixson was invited to speak at the 2012 National Hurricane Conference about the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) 511 Traveler Information System. Mixson is the Project Manager for the Statewide 511 marketing project. She spoke to hundreds of emergency officials about how the Florida 511 system informs Florida residents and visitors of evacuation information, road closures and toll suspensions during emergencies such as a hurricane.
The National Hurricane Conference was established to improve hurricane preparedness, response, recover and mitigation to save lives and property.
