Global-5 has won a pair of 2019 Communicator Awards of Distinction, an international awards program sanctioned and judged by the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts.
In the integrated campaign business to consumer category, Global-5 won for community outreach conducted for the Florida Department of Transportation’s I-4 Ultimate Improvement Project, a reconstruction of 21 miles of interstate running through downtown Orlando that is one of the nation’s busiest economic and tourism corridors. Global-5 planned, developed and implemented a comprehensive digital marketing campaign to educate motorists about changing traffic patterns at the I-4/Maitland Boulevard interchange. The I-4 Ultimate team used multiple communications strategies to ensure that motorists received advance notification of changes to the roadway.
In the film/video government relations category, Global-5 won for the Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority (THEA) Connected Vehicle Pilot Streetcar Installation video. The THEA Connected Vehicle Pilot is deploying cutting-edge technology in downtown Tampa that enables buses, streetcars and privately owned vehicles to communicate with the infrastructure and one another to help prevent crashes and keep traffic moving. The video explains the benefits and challenges of installing connected vehicle equipment in the historic streetcars on Tampa’s TECO Line Streetcar System.
