(Sept. 10, 2014) \u2014 Surpassing the largest number of nationwide submissions ever received, Global-5 Communications\u2019 statewide marketing campaign for the Florida Department of Transportation\u2019s (FDOT) 511 Traveler Information System received the Best of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Award for Best New Innovative Practice in Outreach. Winners were announced on Sept. 9, 2014, at the international ITS World Congress in Detroit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe worked hard to develop an innovative approach to educate the public about 511,\u201d said Mary Hamill, president and CEO of Global-5. \u201cBy looking outside of the box, we were able to generate more than 1 billion impressions and increase 511 usage to more than 3.3 million requests in 2013.
