The designation is awarded nationally to \u201ccelebrate communicators who\u00a0have made bold advances in managing crises, developing brand messages and protecting and building brand reputations for their organizations or clients.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mary founded Global-5 Communications, the nation\u2019s premier transportation communications firm, in 1996. Under Mary\u2019s direction, Global-5 leads the marketing and public relations efforts for the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/i4ultimate.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">I-4 Ultimate Improvement Project<\/a>, the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fl511.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Florida 511 Traveler Information System<\/a>, the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.tampacvpilot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority Connected Vehicle Pilot Deployment Program<\/a>\u00a0and other projects. The company celebrated its 20th\u00a0anniversary in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>As a communications firm specializing in transportation, Global-5 works daily to improve safety and mobility nationwide. The company has the unique responsibility of helping to build a foundation for thriving communities as well as creating the transportation corridors of the future. Global-5 is headquartered in Orlando and works throughout Florida and coast-to-coast for the Federal Highway Administration, state and local departments of transportation, transit and toll agencies, and infrastructure designers and builders involved in Public Private Partnerships (P3s).<\/p>\n<p>Mary graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a Bachelor of Science degree in broadcast journalism and film, and later studied at the Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business in Orlando, Florida. In her first career, Mary worked as an anchor and reporter for TV stations in Columbia, Missouri; Colorado Springs, Colorado; Salt Lake City, Utah; Washington, D.C.; and finally in Orlando as an anchor for Channel 6 (WKMG) from 1985 to 1995.<\/p>\n<p>All of the award recipients will be celebrated at a luncheon on January 24th\u00a0at the Grand Hyatt in New York City.
