(Sept. 10, 2014) — Surpassing the largest number of nationwide submissions ever received, Global-5 Communications’ statewide marketing campaign for the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) 511 Traveler Information System received the Best of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Award for Best New Innovative Practice in Outreach. Winners were announced on Sept. 9, 2014, at the international ITS World Congress in Detroit.

Orlando, Fla., May 1, 2014 — Global-5 Communications’ PSTA Cares commercial campaign was recently recognized by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts for its creative excellence in producing three Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) television commercials. The commercials, which help promote the safety and security benefits that PSTA offers, were honored with a Silver Award of Distinction in the 20th Annual Communicator Awards.

FDOT’s 511 provides real-time traffic reports on the state’s busiest roadways through a phone system, a website, Twitter feeds and an iPhone mobile application.
